This is a tachi attributed to Soshu Hiromasa, active around the Bunmei era of the mid-Muromachi period. The blade is unsigned and comes with a koshirae featuring gold okikakeji nuri, peony and phoenix maki-e on the saya. Hiromasa was a skilled swordsmith during the time of the renowned general Ota Dokan.
