Description

This is a Tachi by Hirotsugu, a swordsmith from Sagami province, active during the mid-Muromachi period (1492-1500). It features a flamboyant Soshu-den style hamon with a combination of ko-gunome and fukushiki-gunome, and intricate carvings including a Sanskrit character and a Kurikara dragon. The sword comes with both koshirae and shirasaya, and is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK.
