Description

This katana is by Yokoyama Sukekane, adopted son of Yokoyama Sukemori, and a prominent smith of the Shin-Shinto period in Bizen. He signed his blades as '58th Generation Descendant of Tomonari' to claim lineage from the founder of Bizen smithing. The blade features a wide body, slightly thick kasane, and a tight ko-itame hada. The hamon is a nioi-gachi gunome with characteristic 'fist-shaped' choji, with a round boshi.
