Description

This Yoroi-doshi tanto is a robust work by Harumitsu, active during the Momoyama period, known for his connection to the powerful daimyo Ukita Hideie. Forged during the Bunroku War, it features a thick kasane and a strong itame hada, ideal for a warrior's blade. The hamon is gunome midare with bright nie, kinsuji, and sunagashi, culminating in a shallow midare-komi boshi, all contributing to its powerful appearance. The koshirae is an exquisite aogai mijin nuri saya aikuchi style, adorned with fine metal fittings and charming menuki, complemented by a kozuka and kogai by Yatsuji Katsutomi.
