Explanation The lineage began in the early period, and in its later phase many blades were forged at Yoshioka within the province. Works forged at Yoshioka are termed “Yoshioka ”; however, in terms of workmanship and style this name also functions as a general designation for late- work.
This piece is a signed . Although its manner is relatively subdued for Yoshioka , it is well made, and is also a valuable object as reference material for study.
