Description

This is a robust yoroidoshi tanto made by Yasuchika of the Soshu school during the late Edo period (Shinshinto). Yasuchika was the son of Hidechika, and both were matchlock gun makers, giving them expertise in creating strong steel. The tanto features impressive forging, large itame hada with mokume, dense black swirls of chikei and jinie, and a komidare hamon based on suguha in ko-nie deki.
