Description Keijo: iori-mune, with curvature; chū-kissaki. Kitae: Tightly forged ko-itame; ji-nie adheres, and the jihada is clear (saeru). Hamon: A suguha-based temper, showing a very slight notare-tendency; nioi is deep, ko-nie adheres well; the nioiguchi is clear (saeru), with ashi entering. Boshi: Not stated. Horimono: None. Nakago: Ubu-nakago; kurijiri; large sujikai-yasurime; one mekugi-ana.

Explanation This katana bears the signature “Made by Izumi no Kami Kunisada in Osaka” (Ōsaka ni oite Izumi no Kami Kunisada kore o saku). The forging is a well-compacted ko-itame with adhering ji-nie and a clear (saeru) ground. The temper is fundamentally suguha, with a faint notare-tendency; the nioi is deep, ko-nie adheres well, the nioiguchi is clear, and ashi are seen. The tang is ubu, finished in kurijiri, with large sujikai file marks and a single peg hole.
