【Description】
The group of the swordsmiths who forged swords in the Musashi region (Today’s Tokyo) was called Shitahara swordsmiths. They founded their school in 1521 (the Muromachi Period). At first, they worked for the Hojo family, a famous feudal clan but after this family was destroyed by the Toyotomi family, they instead served Tokugawa family. They kept forging swords until the end of the Edo Period. This sword was forged by one of the Shitahara swordsmiths. The curvature of this blade is fascinating to observe.
