This katana is a work by Gassan Sadakatsu, made in November of Showa 10 (1935) to commemorate the birth of an Imperial Prince. It features a hon-zukuri mitsumune construction with a tight masame-hada, thick ji-nie, and fine chikei. The hamon is chu-suguha mixed with gunome and togari-gokoro, with a soft nioi-guchi and abundant ko-nie, showing active ko-ashi, yo, kinsuji, and sunagashi. It comes with a modern kin-nashiji ito-maki tachi koshirae and is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon Token.
