This is a Juyo Token designated katana by Kunimasa, an active student of Horikawa Kunihiro in Yamashiro Province during the Edo period. Kunimasa is a rare smith with very few extant signed works, but his craftsmanship is highly regarded. The blade features a strong jigane with fine ko-itame hada and abundant ji-nie, showing a high-quality forging reminiscent of Kotetsu.
