Description

This is an exceptional tanto by Mutsu no Kami Daido, designated as Juyo Token. It is forged in the Shizu style with a symmetrical hamon, a characteristic shared with Muramasa. The blade features a notare hamon in ko-nie-deki and a katana-hi horimono on both sides.

Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit.
