This is a naginata signed Kanemoto from the Mino province, dating to the Tenbun era (1532-1554) of the late Muromachi period. The blade features a koshi naginata-hi engraving with soe-hi on both sides and comes with a shu urushi nuri saya naginata koshirae. The blade exhibits a hamon of small gunome with togariba, and the jitetsu is an itame with ji-nie.
