Mino Province (Gifu) · Nanbokuchō–Edo
Mino is the youngest and most practical of the five traditions — the sword-forge of the Sengoku wars. Centred on Seki, its smiths turned out keen, battle-ready blades in enormous numbers, marked by pointed gunome and togari-ba. The tradition fused Yamato and Sōshū influence into a hard, efficient style.
