This is a katana attributed to the Kouda school, dating to the Nanbokucho era (1331-1392). The Kouda school originated with Konyudo Kunimitsu at the end of the Kamakura period, and flourished through the Muromachi period. This particular blade is unsigned and has been designated Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK.
