Description

This is a tanto by Bishu Osafune Kiyomitsu, bearing a date inscription of Tenbun 10 (1541). It features a distinctive shōbu-zukuri form with an almost moroha-style construction, and it displays a chū-suguha temperline forged in ko-nie-deki. The blade shows linear polishing marks due to an old polish, but there is no rust.
