A rare Koto period tachi by Awata-guchi Kunitsuna, a smith from Yamashiro province active during the Kamakura period. This blade is a designated Juyo Token by the NBTHK and comes with two Juyo Tosogu koshirae. It was a treasured possession of the Date clan, specifically Date Tsunamura, the 4th lord of the Sendai domain.
