A pair of menuki signed Kikuoka Mitsutoshi, depicting a Shishi lion and peony motif. Kikuoka Mitsutoshi was a student of Yanagawa Naomitsu from the Yokoya line, and the younger brother of Mitsuyuki who established the Kikuoka School. This work is remarkably carved in gold, and well illustrates the Machibori lineage from the Yokoya, Yanagawa, and Kikuoka schools.
