Description

This is an unsigned ô-suriage katana attributed to the Shikkake school, active from late Kamakura to early Nanbokuchô period. It features a distinctive shikkake-hada with mokume and masame, and a ko-gunome hamon. The sword is accompanied by a Meiji-period koshirae with a luxurious mokume-style black and gold lacquer saya, and certified as Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK.
