This Kozuka, made by the highly skilled metalworker Tobari Tomihisa of Mito, features a rooster on a drum motif carved in gold on a shakudo nanako ground. Active during the mid to late Edo period (around 1770-1825), Tomihisa combined Goto school techniques with his own less rigid designs. The piece is signed 'Shoseisai Tobari Tomihisa' with a seal and comes with an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certification.
