This Kozuka, dating from the late Edo period, is crafted from Shibuichi, an alloy of copper and silver. It features a design of autumn plants (Akikusa) and insects (Akimushi), including morning glory and grasshopper, symbolizing the autumn season. The maker is Tobari Tomihisa, a pupil of Goto Mitsutaka, who later became independent and was known for his refined taste and interaction with painter Sakai Hōitsu.
