Description

This kozuka by Tomihisa of the Tobari school from the late Edo period depicts young pine trees and dancing cranes, auspicious symbols often used in New Year's decorations. The kozuka features shakudo nanako ground with high relief carving and gold and silver iroe (color enamel) details. The wings are partially made of suaka (copper) to enhance the aesthetic appeal.
