This is a wakizashi attributed to Aizu Kunisada from the mid-Edo period (1660-1690). The blade has some age-related dirt and forging flaws but is generally in good condition with a well-forged steel and a wavy (gunome) hamon suitable for appreciation and tameshigiri. The handle has been newly made with antique fittings and is ready for iaido and tameshigiri.
