This is a rare ubu zaimei Chiyozuru (Echizen Rai) tanto by Chiyozuru Iemasa, dating to the early Muromachi period. The blade is in a Soshu-den style of omidare hamon in nie-deki with a broad boshi. It is signed Iemasa saku and measures 7 sun 4 bu and has a thick kasane. It comes in shirasaya with sayagaki and silver habaki and has a current NBTHK kanteisho.
