通称之定は二代と十一代を意味し、協会の学芸員の方に確認したところ十一代之定の解釈に間違いないそうです。 当刀は美しい地肌で刃中には金線が走る躍動感ある迫力の互の目乱れで、板目良くつみ、地沸つき、砂流しが美しく匂い深く小沸き明るく冴えた、美濃の伝統を受け継ぐ傑作の一振りです。 会津和泉守兼定は新選組土方歳三の愛刀として有名です。室町期の濃州関兼定の三代目にあたる孫を古川孫一郎または孫四郎といい、慶長年間に会津藩主蒲生氏郷の鍛冶となり、奥州兼定の初代となる。以後、古川兼定家は会津における最も古い刀工の家柄となり、幕末まで刀鍛冶として連錦をかざり、三善長道、松軒元興らと共に会津を代表する刀工です。十一代和泉守兼定はその最後を飾る良工です。 0円 (税込)

The NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai, the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords) is a public-interest incorporated foundation founded in 1948 and supervised by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunkachō); it is based at the Japanese Sword Museum in Tokyo. Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
