Description

This is a curvy and slender tachi by Ietsugu of the Bizen Osafune school, dated to August 1408. It features a compelling jihada with itame-hada mixed with nagare-hada bordering on ayasugi-hada, and a suguha hamon with uchinoke and nezumi-ashi. The sword is housed in a splendid late Edo period koshirae with a nature theme, including a signed fuchi-kashira by Mogarashi Sôten and an Itô school tsuba.
