Description

This is a Katana from the Senjuin school, originally forged as a tachi during the Late Kamakura period (circa 1300). It features a superb jigane with itame, nagare, and mokume, covered in ji-nie and chikei, and a captivating utsuri. The hamon is a refined hosô-suguha with ko-gunome, sunagashi, and kinsuji. The blade is accompanied by a mid-Edo period uchigatana-koshirae with fittings bearing the crests of the Go-Hôjô clan and Honda daimyô family, and is certified NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon.
