This is a ken (straight sword) by Imperial Household Artist Miyamoto Kanenori, made when he was 81 years old. It features a mysterious inscription 'Samuhara' believed to ward off bullets, and a beautiful jitetsu with a 'hatsu-shimo' (first frost) like ji-nie. The sword comes with a special antique wooden cane koshirae.
