This is a wakizashi by Noto no Kami Kanenori, born in Hoki province in Tenpo 1. He studied under Sukesada in Bizen province and later served the Ikeda family of Inshu. Kanenori received the title of Noto no Kami after forging a sword for Emperor Komei and also accompanied Prince Arisugawa Taruhito during the Boshin War, forging swords for the Eastern Expeditionary Army.
