大磨上無銘であるが手掻と鑑せられる刀である。 鎬幅がやや広く鎬が高めの造込みで、板目に流れ肌が交じり、直刃の刃縁がほつれ、打のけ・喰違刃が交じり、帽子も焼詰める等、手掻派の特色をよく示した作で、地刃の出来のよい一口である。
