This is a shobu zukuri tanto with a bright vermilion lacquered aikuchi koshirae. The blade is well-preserved with itame jigane showing chikei and yubashiri, and a suguha hamon. The nakago is signed Toshinaga, a swordsmith from Mino province active around the end of the Kamakura period to the late Edo period.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK). Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
As a general rule, returns/exchanges are not accepted on Japanese sword orders unless damaged upon delivery. Other items: returns/exchanges accepted within 7 days of delivery.
