This katana was made by Kashu Katsuie from the late Muromachi period. Katsuie was a swordsmith from Kashu (modern-day Kaga Province, present-day Ishikawa Prefecture). The blade features Ko-mokume hada and a hamon that displays a Yubashiri effect.
