This distinguished katana sword, masterfully crafted by YOSHIYUKI in Hohki province in February 1864, stands as a testament to Japanese craftsmanship. As the celebrated official smith at Matsue Castle in the Izumo Domain, YOSHIYUKI imbued this piece with prestige—his signature on the blade tang marking it as a rare and prized collector’s treasure. Inscriptions of Smith’s name, location, and completion year and month are on the blade tang. The blade features a striking gunome (irregular zigzag) temper line with deep, luminous nioi (white mist) areas and intricate notches—exquisite details certain to captivate and entice discerning collectors.
