This is a katana by Fujiwara Nobuchika, made in the late Edo period (1865) in Musashi province. Nobuchika was a student of Kurihara Nobuhide and later became known for his fine craftsmanship, even presenting a sword to Emperor Taisho. The blade features a wide body, shallow curvature, and a vibrant hamon with mixed gunome midare. It comes with a copper habaki, shirasaya, and an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificate.
