Description

This is a powerful Shinshintô katana by Gassan Sadayoshi, signed and dated to November 1864, just before the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate. It features the school's hallmark ayasugi-hada and rare kuichigai-ba in the boshi, demonstrating the smith's mastery. The blade comes with an outstanding late Edo-period handachi koshirae, certified by NTHK-NPO, and a new shirasaya with a sayagaki by Tanobe-sensei.
