This is a pair of menuki featuring a single peony design, crafted by Unsui-ken Toshinobu, a student of Kikuoka Mitsutoshi and an Edo period kinko (metalworker). The piece emphasizes the flower with a thick, three-dimensional carving, expressed in the vibrant color of solid gold. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu examination in 2013.
