Description

A pair of menuki by Nara Masanaga, a craftsman active in the mid Edo period and a student of Nara Toshinaga. The menuki depict a reed-covered boat with a pair of waterfowls, done in suaka, shakudo, and silver with gold iroe details. The set is signed on each edge (kibata-mei) "Nara Masanaga" and accompanied by an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper and a storage box.
