Irogane (copper) aori-gata tsuba with a silver crescent moon in a misty sky over waves, a design called suigetsu no zu. The tsuba is attributed to the 2nd generation Jingo based on the shapes of the ryo-hitsu and the carving of the waves. It came from the collection of Ito Mitsuru, a Higo authority.

The Shimizu school is one of the four mainline houses -- together with Hayashi, Hirata, and Nishigaki -- that represent the orthodox tradition of Higo kinko (肥後金工). Its founder, the first-generation Shimizu Jinbei, is traditionally said to have been a nephew of Hirata Hikozo, and to have studied under him.
