NihontoWatch日本刀販売 | 銀座長州屋 |銘 湧心子貞吉謹作 昭和六十一年八月日 加治良胤所持, 573 Ginza Choshuya 東京都中央区銀座3-10-4 月–土 9:30–17:30 湧水子貞吉(ゆうすいし さだよし)は明治四十一年生まれ。月山貞勝に学び、師の一字を譲られ貞吉と銘し、豊麗な湧き水で名高い三島大社の近くに鍛冶場を設け「湧水心」とも号した。相州正宗・貞宗、大和保昌貞吉を研究し、隅谷正峯師や天田昭次師、宮入行平師らと同様、和銑、古鉄の卸し等、地鉄造りを工夫。古の名刀を範とし、作刀にその生涯を捧げている。

Shōwa to the present: destruction and revival
The twentieth century nearly killed the craft twice: wartime distortion, then the occupation ban. The NBTHK’s founding in 1948 and licensed forging from 1953 rebuilt the sword as an art, crowned by Living National Treasures and the mukansa rank.
