This is a naginata made by Ogi Tsugiyouemon Munekage of Higo province in the Shin-Shinto period. It is a rare example of a naginata made in the shape of the Kokarasu-maru sword, and is dated to the 2nd year of the Koka era (1845). The hamon is based on small notare with small gunome, showing the neat style of the Dotanuki school in the Shin-Shinto period.
