Iehira served the powerful Maeda Clan of Kaga Domain as an official swordsmith, producing blades renowned for their refined workmanship and brilliant tempering. Born as the son of the first-generation master Ietada , Iehira succeeded the family tradition after the early passing of his elder brother and became the second-generation head of the school . Together with his father, he is regarded as one of the greatest swordsmiths of Kaga Province, and is widely recognized for possessing some of the highest technical skill among all Kaga smiths.
