Description

H488. Iron sukashi tsuba. 8.5 x 8.5 x .25 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. Another tsuba from the Holbrook collection. Skip’s notes say, “Ko Tosho, rimless, Mitsu Tomoe – Thunder, Muromachi.” This tsuba has a thin plate of quality (well forged) steel, tekkotsu on its rim, and the whole of the nakago ana is lined to reduce its size.;I have no qualms with Muromachi as the date. Excellent condition; I think this one would be quite spectacular if mounted.
