Description

This is a futatokoro (set of two fittings) attributed to Yoshioka Inaba no Suke, a highly esteemed metalworker for the Tokugawa Shogunate during the Edo period. The piece features a design of the Aoi seal, specifically the corner-cut Aoi crest used by the Matsudaira family of the Iyo-Saijo domain, a branch of the Kishu Tokugawa clan. Despite being unsigned, the meticulous nanako work, exquisite gold and shakudo colors, and precise file marks exemplify the high standards expected of a piece for the Shogun's family.
