This is an antique oval-shaped iron Tsuba from the Mid Edo period, crafted in the Bushu Itoh-style by Masatsune. It features an engraved Donguri (acorn) and leaves motif, believed to have originally been brass-inlaid. The Tsuba comes with an NBTHK Hozon Certificate, recognizing its creator as Masatsune, son of the first Bushu Itoh school master Masanaga, who worked for the Edo Shogunate.
