This is an unsigned katana attributed to Kanesaki of Sakushu (Mimasaka Province), dating to the late Edo period (around 1781-1789). The blade is described as having a beautiful, well-disordered hamon and an intimidating presence. It comes with a period uchigatana koshirae, including matching fittings and a round plate tsuba.
