Description

This is an unsigned tsuba attributed to the 2nd generation Akasaka Tadamasa, featuring a Musashino-zu (Musashino field) openwork design. It depicts pampas grass with dew drops and a crescent moon, showcasing a refined carving style without unnecessary thickness. The iron quality and color are excellent, and it exhibits characteristics of Ko-Akasaka works, such as the pointed seppa-dai and the small kogai-hitsu-ana compared to the kozuka-hitsu-ana.
