NihontoWatchModern sword Minamoto Kiyohira with Shirosaya. 人間国宝 宮入昭平の実弟、宮入清平の刀。 大鋒で身幅の太い豪壮な刀姿に、勢いの有る刃紋を焼いた優品です! Kiyohira is younger brother of Miyairi Akihira. This sword is a wonderful piece with a powerful figure and graceful hamon. 「体配 style」 鎬造り庵棟、身幅太く重尋常、鳥居反り大鋒。茎は生で筋違い鑢がかかる、茎尻は栗尻。 「地鉄 jigane」 地鉄は、板目が流れ心と成り、地沸厚く付く。 「刃紋 hamon」 刃紋は互の目乱れで足入り、刃緑は荒沸が付き砂流しかかり、刃中は葉、金筋が入る。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。 「特徴 detailed」 源清宗、本名を宮入栄三、銘は初め清平と切る。大正十三年(1924)長野県生まれ。昭和十六年から兄である宮入昭平(のちの人間国宝、行平)について鍛刀を学び、昭和23年に独立し、新作刀展では毎日新聞社賞、優秀賞、奨励賞十二、努力賞七を受賞する。彼は同じ信州出身の源清麿に私淑していたため、清麿を研究した。その後平成元年に銘を源清宗と改め円熟した技術で清磨写しを作刀する。平成15年鬼籍に入る。 本作、清平刀匠55才の円熟期の作品です。鋒が延びた豪壮な体配に、勢いのある刃紋を焼いた逸品です。 「拵 Koshirae」 合口拵 ハバキ(habaki) :銀無垢二重。 鞘(Saya) :白鞘。 「刀剣の状態 condition of blade」 研:良好です。 傷:欠点に成るような傷は有りません。

The twentieth century nearly killed the craft twice: wartime distortion, then the occupation ban. The NBTHK’s founding in 1948 and licensed forging from 1953 rebuilt the sword as an art, crowned by Living National Treasures and the mukansa rank.
