This is a katana by Higo no Kami Kanetsugu, also known as Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu (Kimura Kanesada), a modern smith born in Showa 26 and part of the renowned Akamatsu Taro lineage. Dated Showa 57 (1982), this lightweight blade is suitable for iaido and tameshigiri. It comes with a black lacquered uchigatana koshirae and is housed in a shirasaya.
