This is a tanto by Ozawa Masatoshi, a representative modern swordsmith from Saitama, made in the spring of Showa 53 (1978). It is a copy of a Soshu Masamune blade, showcasing the smith's skill in the Soshu tradition. Masatoshi, whose real name was Ozawa Iwazo, was a student of Miyaguchi Toshihiro and Tsukamoto Ikkan-sai Kimasa, and received numerous awards.
