This is a tanto made by the smith Masatoshi in the spring of Showa 53 (1978), a modern sword (Gendaito) from Saitama prefecture. The blade is a copy of the Soshu Masamune style, showcasing the smith's skill in the Soshu tradition. Masatoshi, whose real name was Iwazo Ozawa, was a representative master of modern swordsmiths from Saitama.
