This is a daisho (matched pair) of katana and wakizashi made by Kasama Ikkansai Shigetsugu during the Showa period. Shigetsugu was a renowned swordsmith known for his exceptional blade carving skills, having studied under Miyaguchi Ikkansai Shigehisa and Morioka Masakichi. He later became an instructor at the Nihonto Denshu-sho, training many successful swordsmiths.
