Two courts, sixty years of war, and the most dramatic silhouettes in the sword’s history: broad blades, extended points, true ōdachi later cut down into the majestic katana collectors prize. The Sōshū manner was the style of the age.
This is a large tanto, believed to be from the late Nanbokucho period, signed "Sadamune Tsukuru." However, it is considered the work of a different smith than the famous Masamune disciple. The blade features o-itame hada and gunome-midare hamon, with no rust despite its old polish. It comes with a luxurious koshirae featuring tagayasan wood and solid silver fittings, all in excellent condition.
